On
October 24, 2024, the students of Infant Jesus Convent School had the
delightful opportunity to visit the vibrant Saras Mela held in
Mohali. The fair was a celebration of India’s rich cultural
heritage, featuring an array of beautiful artifacts, handicrafts,
traditional dances, and food from different parts of the country.
Upon
arrival, the students were welcomed by the vibrant colors of
intricately designed craft stalls showcasing handmade pottery,
textiles, and jewellery. The artisans demonstrated their skills,
giving the students insight into the hard work and creativity
involved in traditional craftsmanship. Many students purchased
souvenirs to take home, including handmade toys, decorative pieces,
and colorful bangles.
The
air was filled with the melodies of traditional folk songs from
various regions, which added to the charm of the event. The students
