The English Department faculty members conducted a special morning assembly to celebrate English Language Day with great enthusiasm and learning spirit. The programme aimed to highlight the importance and significance of the English language as a global means of communication and knowledge.
The assembly began with a prayer followed by an informative introduction about why English Language Day is celebrated on 23rd April, marking the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare, one of the greatest writers in English literature.
The teachers presented beautiful poems showcasing the richness and beauty of the language. A lively segment on idioms helped everyone learn commonly used expressions in an interesting way. Another informative presentation focused on common grammatical errors, guiding students on correct usage in daily communication.
A special activity on pronunciation was also conducted, where students learnt the correct way to pronounce frequently misused words. A few students of Class X also conducted grammar classes in KG & Classes I to III.
The school principal, Sr Vanitha Veena appreciated the sincere efforts of the English Department faculty members for organizing such a meaningful and enriching assembly.
