A seminar on the topic ‘Advanced Mathematics’ was held for the students of Classes VII & VIII to spark curiosity beyond textbooks. The goal was to make students see Mathematics as fun, logical and connected to technology, puzzles and everyday problems. It was held by ‘Sri Chaitanya Academy’, Chandigarh. The resource person, Mr. Ashish made students competed to solve mental Mathematics problems using shortcuts. Students asked questions about careers, calculators versus mental Mathematics etc. By the end of the seminar, students understood that Mathematics is not just formulas but a way to solve problems. They learned Mathematics shortcuts to save time in exams and became more interested in participating in Olympiads and Mathematics clubs. The seminar was informative and engaging. It successfully motivated the students to explore Mathematics beyond the syllabus.
